I AM HAVING A BLAST.
call me nerdy, but spending all day talking about research and science is sooo fun. i just got back from dinner (which was great btw) and holy cow. i am so excited. soooo excited. i don't even know where to start. i'll just go in order.
breakfast was really good. the faculty gave us a brief overview of the program. then they gave us nice bags full of info about the program and about fort collins and chocolate and fancy name tags! yay! i love free stuff. then i interviewed with five faculty then we had a really great lunch then i interviewed with two more faculty. it was really relaxed and not stressful at all! it was so fun! the interviews were basically 30 mins of talking about the faculty's current research, which was surprisingly very fun. i am such a nerd. all the projects i heard about were so exciting! the interviews totally did not feel like interviews. it was so fun. sooo fun. after the interviews we went to a poster symposium, which was also very fun. i got to meet a bunch of the current grad students and ask them all sorts of questions about their research and about how they liked the program. and i got more good food.
then we went out to dinner. so good. and so fun. and more science talk. i loved it.
i guess this doesn't sound very exciting...
but it was. it was so fun.
i am so in love with science. and today i got to talk about science and research ALL DAY while being very well fed.
they are really treating everyone very well. lots of great food and lots of (apparently great) alcohol all day long. the hotel is sooo cute. they have a cat. if you leave your hotel door open it will wander in and snuggle with you.
and this town is awesome! there is so much cool stuff here! and it's so pretty! and the people are so nice! and the program is awesome! and the campus is beautiful!
and the whole day after talking to new faculty, old faculty, new students, and old students... even after specifically asking... i didn't not hear a single thing anyone did not like about the program.
i'm sold.
unless i completely fall in love with iowa next week... i want to go to csu. definitely.
and now i am exhausted. today was amazing, but 7 interviews, dozens of posters, lots of walking, and constant scientific conversation - i'm so tired.
the end.
wow, i need to work on my writing skills. this blog was kind of a mess - sorry.
AAAAHHHH I LOVE IT HERE!!!!!!
